Dedicated in May 2007, the AUHSD Performing Arts
Center at Kennedy High School was funded and built by the Anaheim Union
High School District. Primarily intended for use by all the
various performing groups in which students of the District's 18 Junior
High and High Schools participate, this $17 million facility has a
state-of-the-art sound system and concert hall acoustics, with a stage
capacity of 300 performers and an audience seating capacity of 780
people. It is also available for groups from the surrounding
communities for public and private events.
As beautifully equipped as this facility is, there are still several
items needed that the District was not able to provide. That's
where the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts comes in.
Founded in 2004, the Foundation is a dedicated group of volunteers
committed to make the Performing Arts Center a top-notch facility now
and for decades to come. As of now, the Foundation has provided a
Grand Piano, a Scrim, a Muslin Backdrop, an Electronic Hoist, Cable
& Controls and a Follow Spotlight. Our wish list includes
Choir Risers, Music Stands, Chairs, another Follow Spotlight, a Clear
Com System, an Acoustical Shell, Lobby Monitors, Tables, Security Ropes
& Stands and maybe even an Electronic Marquee.
With over $65,000 in purchases so far, you can see we still have a ways
to go to meet our goals. You can help! Your tax-deductable
donation will enable us to make this a state-of-the-art facility second
to none! We've made donating easy on your wallet. We have
several different donation levels, and if you've donated in the
past and wish to donate again, we can consolidate your donations so you
will qualify for the highest level possible.
